Caregiver wellness is essential for effective care, longevity in the role and personal well-being. Prioritizing your wellness as a caregiver can help you stay mindful in the present day, appreciating the joy of each moment and time spent with others. When you take care of yourself, you are also taking care of others. Children’s Treatment Network (CTN) is excited to share the launch of our Caring for the Caregiver video series. This four-part video series focuses on providing caregivers with skills and strategies that can be used in their day- to-day lives. This series is a result of a collaborative effort between the Community and Family Participation Program at CTN and Dr. Shivajan Sivapalan, M.D. and Dr. Kira Vimalakathan, C. Join Dr. Shivajan Sivapalan, M.D. and Dr. Kira Vimalakathan, C. Psych., from the South Asian Autism Awareness Centre (SAAAC) as they explore the topic of caregiver burnout and help viewers navigate how to find balance and support their own self-care.
In the second video of the Caring for the Caregiver series, Dr. Shivajan Sivapalan, M.D. & Dr. Kira Vimalakathan, C. Psych., from the South Asian Autism Awareness Centre (SAAAC) ask the question “In the chaos of our daily lives, how do we navigate it all mindfully?” Viewers will be guided through mindfulness exercises and strategies to help focus on and enjoy the present.
King-Adapted Gymnastics (Pulsars Gymnastics Partnership)
It allows the athletes to move throughout the gym at their own pace. They will be partnered with a 2:1 coach who will work on adaptive skills, but also gym and sensory exploration.
Boomerang Health- Conversation Club- Vaughan
Conversation Club is aimed at enhancing participants’ conversation skills, such as initiating and maintaining conversations, participating in group discussions, and connecting with peers.
