Early Intervention Services (EIS) – Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy in Simcoe County

As part of the Early Intervention Services (EIS) in Simcoe County, CTN provides a variety of short-term intervention approaches in Occupational Therapy (OT) and Physiotherapy (PT) that are tailored to the unique needs of kids and their families.  

What we do 

Our therapists support kids in developing essential skills for daily life, promoting growth, independence and well-being. Services focus on the F-Words of Child Development* and are offered in short, focused periods of using a caregiver coaching approach. 

EIS Occupational Therapists (OTs) can assist with:  

• Delayed fine motor or upper extremity skills (such as reaching or grasping) 

• Difficulties with activities of daily living (such as dressing, personal care or feeding self) 

• Sensory or regulation concerns impacting participation in tasks 

• Eating concerns not related to chewing and swallowing safety 

• School readiness skill development

EIS Physiotherapists (PTs) can assist with:  

• Delayed gross motor or movement skills (such as sitting or crawling) 

• Toe walking 

• Torticollis (neck tightness on one side) and Plagiocephaly (flattening of the skull) 

OT/PT services provided by CTN EIS may include: 

• Resources  

• Clinics or workshops  

• Group or individual intervention  

Eligibility 

• Birth until school entry (up to age six if school entry is delayed) 

• Concerns are at home (not in childcare) 

• Not currently receiving other publicly funded OT/PT service  

• Live in Simcoe County
