Who should attend? Parents and Caregivers
This 2.5-hour workshop is designed for parents and caregivers of Autistic children of all ages who want to learn non-physical, supportive intervention strategies to increase safety and reduce risk of harm. Adapted from the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® (NVCI) training program offered through the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), this session will help participants recognize and respond early to signs of anxiety and/or distress, implement supportive verbal and non-verbal communication techniques and appropriate de-escalation strategies, and manage their emotional responses during challenging situations. Please note that Caregiver NVCI is exclusively available to parents and caregivers eligible for Kerry’s Place Autism Services. Participants will not receive a certificate of completion or NVCI certification. Event details: Date: March 31st, 2025 Time: 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. For more information and to register, click here.
