About event:

Who should attend?    Parents and Caregivers

In this presentation, Eva will provide a brief glimpse into the “emotional world” – both that of parents and that of children. She will share a few ideas for what you can do to navigate through these challenges. There are no quick fixes, but these ideas may help you to find a balance so you can continue to be the parents you want to be.

You love your children and your chosen children, but being with them 24/7 is exhausting. And then add the extra challenges of living through a pandemic, and this can become a recipe for discouragement and burnout. It seems that children’s behaviour is getting worse and the adults, too, are getting to their wits end!

Speaker Eva de Gosztonyi, MA, psychologist (OPQ), has worked for over 45 years in schools across Canada. She is the Co-ordinator of the Centre of Excellence for Behaviour Management, a support to the ten English School Boards of Quebec, helping them to provide effective interventions for students with behavioural challenges.

The interventions that Eva suggests are based in neuroscience, they are trauma-informed and are congruent with the attachment-based developmental approach of Dr. Gordon Neufeld. Eva is a member of the Faculty of the Neufeld Institute. Her aim is to help adults make sense of the children in their care in so they can create the conditions in which their children can grow and thrive
