We all have a role in deepening our collective understanding as we embark on our path towards making reconciliation real for Indigenous peoples.
Across Canada, the month of June is also recognized as Pride Month. It is observed to commemorate the social activism resulting from the June 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City. Pride Month is a time to celebrate the 2SLGBTQI+ communities, including individuals within our network, the kids, youth and families we serve, along with friends and family in our own personal lives. It can also be a time to learn what it means to be an ally by recognizing privileges and questioning our inherent biases. Take a moment to learn more about 2SLGBTQI+ communities, the discrimination and barriers they face as well as their incredible contributions to Canada. Resources for Pride Month
By celebrating diversity and inclusion, we help to create an environment where everyone can be their true selves.
