This March, CTN is shining a spotlight on health awareness dates that recognize the kids, youth and families we support. Throughout the month, we invite our community to learn more, share experiences and show support for inclusion, understanding and connection.
March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, a time to recognize people with developmental disabilities and the importance of inclusive communities. Developmental disabilities can affect how someone moves, learns, communicates or behaves, and every individual brings unique strengths and perspectives. At CTN, we are committed to creating welcoming spaces where everyone feels valued. Explore upcoming inclusive activities through our Events Calendar and join us in celebrating connection, belonging and participation.
March is also Epilepsy Awareness Month, dedicated to raising awareness about epilepsy, a neurological condition that causes recurring seizures and affects people of all ages. On March 26th, people around the world participate in Purple Day by wearing purple for epilepsy to show support and help raise awareness across the community.
Neurodiversity Celebration Week runs from March 16th to 20th and celebrates the many ways people think, learn and experience the world. At CTN, we celebrate and support the strengths and talents of kids and youth with neurodiverse minds, helping them feel understood, supported and empowered.
On March 21st, communities around the world recognize World Down Syndrome Day. Many people join the Lots of Socks campaign by wearing their brightest or most mismatched socks to show that while we are all different, we are connected.
Join us this March by participating in these awareness events and learning more about the experiences of individuals. Whether you wear purple, put on your most colourful socks or explore online resources, your involvement makes a difference and helps to create a more inclusive and supportive community for everyone. If you’re looking for information and resources to support your child, youth or family, visit our Online Resource Centre.
CTN acknowledges that we support a diverse range of families, partners and employees. We strive to honour as many significant dates as possible and understand that we may not capture all of them. We encourage everyone to explore and recognize the observances that are meaningful to them and their communities. View our 2026 Days of Significance calendar here.
