This March, CTN is shining a spotlight on important awareness dates that recognize the amazing kids, youth and families we support. Join us as we learn, share and show our support.
Developmental disabilities can affect how someone moves, learns, speaks or behaves. This month, we acknowledge the importance of including people with developmental disabilities in every part of community life. You can check out upcoming inclusive CTN events through our Events Calendar for opportunities to connect, share experiences and build friendships or visit our Online Resource Centre for helpful tools, tips and information. Celebrate Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month with us and discover new ways to connect, learn and have fun together.
March is Epilepsy Awareness Month, a time to learn about epilepsy, a brain condition that causes recurring seizures and can affect people of all ages. On March 26th, CTN invites everyone to embrace the Power In Purple, the Epilepsy Foundation’s 2025 theme celebrating the strength and resilience of the epilepsy community. Together, we can turn awareness into action and strengthen support for those living with epilepsy.
Neurodiversity Celebration Week runs from March 16th to 22nd. Neurodiversity means that people process information, think and move in unique ways, including those with Dyslexia, Autism and ADHD. At CTN, we celebrate and support the strengths and talents of kids and youth with neurodiverse minds, helping them feel supported, valued and respected. CTN encourages everyone to embrace and celebrate neurodiversity throughout March and beyond.
On March 21st, people around the world will recognize World Down Syndrome Day and encourage governments to “Improve Our Support Systems.” Join the Lots of Socks campaign by wearing your brightest or most mismatched socks to show that while we are all different, we are connected. At CTN, we strive to ensure kids, youth and families find the supports that fit their needs. Learn more about available resources for Down Syndrome on our website.
Join us this March by participating in these awareness events and learning more about the experiences of the families we serve. Whether you wear purple, put on your most colourful socks or explore our online resources, your involvement makes a difference and helps to create a more inclusive and supportive community for everyone. - CTN acknowledges that we support a diverse range of families, service providers and employees. While we strive to honour as many significant dates as possible, we encourage individuals to explore and recognize the diverse array of observances that may be meaningful to them and their communities to help support belonging and inclusivity.
