December 3 is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. It’s a day to recognize that everyone should have the chance to take part in their community. It also reminds us of our shared responsibility to promote inclusive practices and support the rights and well-being of people with disabilities. This year’s theme, “Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress,” highlights that communities are stronger when people with disabilities are included. Real progress happens when everyone can participate, share ideas and lead. You can learn more about this year’s theme on the United Nations website. At Children’s Treatment Network (CTN), we work towards building a community where all kids, youth and families belong. Every child with varying abilities has the right to have fun, enjoy friends, function as they are, access fitness, plan for their future and join in family activities. Through our network of partners across the health, community and education sectors, we support more than 39,000 kids and youth with disabilities and developmental needs and their families. Together, we deliver programs and services that help remove barriers and open doors to participation. For more information about our programs and services, visit our website. By supporting inclusion every day, we help shape a vibrant community where all kids, youth and families belong.
