At Children’s Treatment Network (CTN), we are committed to listening to the many voices of clients and families. FAC offers a great opportunity to get involved in sharing ideas and advice on programs, services, projects and strategic goals. Every voice is welcome. My favorite part of FAC is when we talk about our successes and challenges in being a family with a medically complex child. As a result of sharing, many initiatives have been started or changed because I shared my story. Advocating can be done in many different ways. Laura, FAC Chair The FAC is made up of volunteers and staff and is now accepting applicants for the 2021-22 year. We are seeking volunteers with diverse experiences (e.g., age, gender, culture, education, lived experience, geography, etc.) to help support the current FAC workplan. Over the years, the FAC has been instrumental in several new initiatives at CTN including hosting youth and family panel events, recruiting former clients to expand its membership, advising on programs and services, recommending suggestions about evolving language used by the network and more. Hi, my name is Lexi. I am in my third year of university and its also my third year as an FAC member. Being a part of the FAC has been both a rewarding and huge learning experience. As a former CTN client, it’s been very meaningful for me to advocate for myself and have a strong support system from my fellow FAC members. This year, I’m honoured to be FAC Vice Chair and I got to meet some inspiring family members with exceptional circumstances that were in some ways quite similar to my own. I highly recommend CTN youth or family members to drop in and see what we do here at FAC. Lexi, FAC Vice Chair You may be the right fit if you can:
