Who should attend? Parents and Caregivers
Participants will learn about ASD, mental illnesses, and biological, psychological, and social factors that may impact or contribute to an individual’s behaviour. At the end of the training, participants will be able to identify the characteristics of ASD, have knowledge of mental illnesses that are associated with ASD, and take away some general prevention and skill building strategies. Ready to Read Group Therapy is a play and learning based group designed for clients in Grades 1 and 2. The group will focus on enhancing participants’ reading readiness skills, teaching early decoding and phonics skills, and addressing the conventions of written language.
