Research shows that being in nature significantly improves overall health and well-being. Mood Walks is a provincewide initiative that promotes physical activity in nature, or “green exercise,” to improve both physical and mental health. We will host a series of four weekly walks in nature on accessible trails in Simcoe County. There will also be a virtual orientation meeting before the series of walks begins. The goal of the walks is also to build connections as the weeks progress, so we ask that you aim to attend all four walks. CTN's Equipment Loan Program https://www.ctnsy.ca/Program-Services/Equipment-Loan-Program.aspx will join us for the virtual orientation, showcasing the types of equipment you could use with your child or youth when hiking. Options will include back carriers (60lb limit), Hippocampe's and the Grit Wheelchair. Feel free to reach out in advance if you'd like to start the conversation about borrowing equipment for these walks! equipment@ctnsy.ca Parents and caregivers are welcome to join walks on their own, or bring their CTN kids and youth and other members of your household.
