About event:

Who should attend?    Parents and Caregivers

This 2½-hour workshop introduces parents and caregivers to how a diagnosis of Autism may influence or impact their child or youth’s journey with gender and sexual identity.  Participants will leave with increased knowledge on the barriers their child or youth may face when exploring intersecting identities, and supportive strategies that help to empower and validate their autistic 2SLGBTQ+ youth.

As a result of participating in this workshop, participants will be:

  • able to describe how a diagnosis of Autism may influence or impact one's journey with gender and sexual identity
  • introduced to the research regarding Autism, gender and sexuality
  • able to identify support strategies for autistic 2SLGBTQ+ youth
