Who should attend? Children|Youth
This event is for kids and youth with disabilities and developmental needs 7 to 21 years of age and their support person or caregiver who have not attended a past Abilities in Motion event. No prior experience is necessary. Each person will be assessed and a suitable boat, along with any necessary adaptive equipment, will be included.
Participants will enjoy a 60 to 90 minute paddling experience in small groups, with their support person or caregiver, alongside Abilities in Motion staff and volunteers to support this fun adventure! Ready to Read Group Therapy is a play and learning based group designed for clients in Grades 1 and 2. The group will focus on enhancing participants’ reading readiness skills, teaching early decoding and phonics skills, and addressing the conventions of written language.
