Join CTN and Abilities in Motion for Adapted Paddling Try-It-On Events! July 6, 7 and 20 and August 3 and 4 Each event date has two sessions: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m Earl Rowe Provincial Park, 4998 Concession Road 7, Alliston, ON To register, contact Andy Owens at Abilities in Motion, 705-716-1685 or email creekpaddler4@gmail.com. No prior experience is necessary. Each person will be assessed, and a suitable boat and any necessary adaptive equipment will be included. Participants will enjoy a 60 – 90 paddling experience in small groups, with their support person or caregiver and Abilities in Motion staff and volunteers to support this fun adventure!
Event for children and youth with disabilities and developmental needs 7 to 21 years of age and their support person or caregiver.
Markham Public Library - Elementary School Learning & Academic Success (Part 1) - Online
This 2 part workshop will: Look at what essential skills are needed for academic learning and independence at school. We will explore strategies aiming to improve literacy/academic learning, advanced language proficiency, social-emotional development, and teamwork competence.
Learning Disabilities Association of York - Reading Rocks - Online
Reading Rocks is an intervention approach that uses motivational tactics to engage children in the reading process. These tactics are designed to actively engage children in their own learning. The motivation tactics are engaged through the use of instructional workstations that tutors design and tailor to each child’s needs.
