Who should attend? Parents and Caregivers
Persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD) may experience unique challenges during their return to in-person learning. The physical transition from home to school means significant changes to routine, scheduling and social interactions. Tuesday, October 26th, 2021 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Register This workshop will provide parents and caregivers with strategic supports to transition their child and youth back to in-person learning including; the types of transitions involved, the use of visuals supports, and create an understanding of how to assist with reintegration into the school’s social environment. Parents and Caregivers will also leave with knowledge about why persons with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) may experience challenges around transitions and strategies to use with their child or youth. This Foundational Family Service is intended for parents and caregivers of children and youth, aged 0-17, who are registered in the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) and are, or will be, experiencing a transition to in-person learning. This Foundational Family Service workshop is led by an Autism Consultant or a Behaviour Therapist. This workshop will be delivered live via Zoom, and the following is required to participate:
