Who should attend? Youth
Our Group Chat, Thursdays at 7:00pm, is for children with social and learning differences age 12 -18 years. This group had been meeting weekly at FERN, before COVID, with the aim to support participants in conversations around stress, worries, emotion regulation and social challenges at home and school. Facilitated by FERN clinicians the group problem solved, shared food and played games. Sheltering at home has brought unique stressors to our discussions. Understanding self-regulation and stress has been a focus (while continuing to chat, laugh and listen to music). This week we will be learning a new strategy for stress reduction with Dr Laura, FERN's Clinical Director. This group has now moved online with Zoom. This is a new platform which has continued to allow for safe sharing in a supportive environment.
