Parents & Guardians are invited to join us for an information night to learn more about SibShops for siblings of children and youth with disabilities. Sibshops are for 8-13 year old brothers & sisters of kids with special needs Who sponsors Sibshops? Sibshops is a collaborative effort of Simcoe County Resource Consultation Services (a program of CLH Developmental Support Services), Catulpa Community Support Services & Children’s Treatment Network Who runs Sibshops? Our Sibshops are run by a team of people who have a professional understanding of the impact a child with special needs can have on brothers or sisters. Equally important, they have all been trained in the facilitation of Sibshops and have great kid skills! For the adults who run them & for the agencies that sponsor them, Sibshops are evidence of their loving concern for the family member who will have the longest-lasting relationship with a person who has a disability – their sibling! What is the cost of a Sibshops? There is no fee for siblings to attend.
Sibshops are new to our Midland area. We are currently planning 3 sessions… November 20/2019, February 19/2020 and May 20/2020. Sibshops will run from 4:30-6:00PM at 230 Aberdeen Blvd in Midland, ON (“One Roof”).
