Who should attend? Children
Do you have a child in Junior Kindergarten who could benefit from support in reading or printing? If so, this half day March Break camp is perfect for you! Daily sessions will be play based and fun, targeting both reading readiness and written output skills. The reading programming will focus on pre-reading skills related to sound and letter recognition, rhyming, segmenting sounds, blending sounds, and manipulating letters and sounds. This portion of the camp is facilitated by a Speech-Language Pathologist. The printing programming will focus on improving written output skills. Using elements of the Handwriting Without Tears program, children will learn/practice printing using multi-sensory means. Further, fine motor skills will be targeted through crafts and games. This portion of the camp is facilitated by an Occupational Therapist. Kerry's Place (FFS) - Autism: Beyond the Diagnosis - Online
This 2½-hour workshop teaches parents and caregivers strategies and tools to help their children and youth understand their diagnosis, using a strengths-based approach.
