Business Intelligence Analyst- Full Time Permanent (35 hours per week)

Children’s Treatment Network of Simcoe York (CTN) supports children and youth with special needs in their homes, communities and schools by providing intake, service navigation and coordinated service planning, assessment and diagnostic services, specialized clinics and rehabilitation services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech language therapy. Funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, CTN offers services through contracted partner organizations in the education, health and community sectors. Through its innovative network model, CTN’s commitment to providing family-centred care is anchored by an electronic client record that is shared across its partner organizations and provides the foundation for integrated plans of care and services. As part of an information management team, this full-time position (35 hours per week) is responsible for the configuration and day-to-day administration of CTN’s Business Intelligence and reporting tools.

Reporting to the Manager, Business Intelligence and Technology, this position works closely with CTN’s management team to understand BI requirements and deliver on those needs using dashboards, scorecards, metrics, data sets, reports, and data analysis. Responsibilities include the analysis and development of business requirements, the design and implementation of BI tool changes and enhancements, creation of data extract, translate, and load (ETL) processes, creation of reports, and maintenance of BI databases. This requires a thorough understanding of the Microsoft BI development stack (SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) for the creation of products.

The BI Analyst will also provide support, including trouble-shooting user issues, diagnosis and addressing data quality issues, assisting management with data analysis, as well as assisting other members of the information management team as needed. Qualifications and

Requirements:

  • University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline OR an equivalent combination of education and experience satisfactory to CTN is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather user requirements and create specifications.
  • Proven experience with complex SQL queries
  • Understanding of BI development and report writing, preferably using Microsoft BI tools
  • Understanding of IT processes; change management, incident management, problem management, service delivery, project execution and planning, etc.
  • Experience with clinical data management is an asset.
  • Demonstrated respect for confidentiality and an ability to exercise good judgement, discretion, sensitivity and accountability in all aspects of the role when dealing with clients, families, network partners and service providers.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation pertaining to health records, privacy, and security is an asset.
  • Ability to champion change and foster an environment that promotes personal accountability.
  • Effective, professional, and courteous communication skills are required.
  • Ability to conduct work planning to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention todetail in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Commitment to, and experience in facilitating, the professional growth and development of self andothers.
  • Experience with and understanding of various cultures and cultural communities includingFrancophone and Indigenous communities.

Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle to attend Network related activities. This position may require some evening and weekend work.
