Hosted by CTN, in partnership with the Ontario Wheelchair Sports Association (OWSA), families from across York Region attended this filled-to-capacity event at the Rouge Woods Community Centre. The kids had a chance to try moving around in sport wheelchairs, they did passing and dribbling drills and they played basketball and tennis games to practise their new skills! All of the kids (and parents) had a great time and left with huge smiles on their faces. This is fun! What a great event, thank you for offering this! –Parent Special thanks to the Town of Richmond Hill for providing us with the space to run the program, and to OWSA for providing us with the equipment and facilitators to run the program. Due to the overwhelming interest in the event, we are hoping to be able to offer this program again in the future, so please check our calendar for dates. If you are interested in coordinating a wheelchair sport program or league in your area, or to learn about our next “Have a Go” day, regularly visit our events calendar or contact CTN Recreation Therapist, Kelly Lapham at klapham@ctnsy.ca.
