In late September, CTN clients who receive Single Plan of Care Services were offered a unique pampering and spa experience with Glama Gals Tween Spa. Glama Gals provides full salon services, birthday parties, and monthly motivational workshops for girls in a positive and empowering environment. Local franchises in Vaughan, Newmarket and Barrie reached out to CTN to host a parent and child mini-salon experience. They have previously provided services for families connected with SickKids, The Starlight Foundation and Make-A-Wish Foundation. A total of 25 children/youth and 18 parents received mini-facials, mini-manis or mini-pedis at one of the three events. The evening was a night to remember, complete with cucumber eye masks, sparkly lotions and delicious smelling, all natural face creams! The families enjoyed a pizza party, cupcakes, and mocktail “pink-a-tini’s”. The Glama Gals staff provided an energetic, uplifting atmosphere that encouraged a positive self-image and being true to your unique self. These opportunities allowed parents and children to enjoy quality relaxing time together, in an environment that would accommodate for children’s disabilities, while still providing a fun experience for everyone attending.
"I have been wanting to take my daughter to get her nails done, but she doesn’t like to be touched, so I didn’t know how we would do in a normal spa. I’m so happy you were able to offer this day." - Parent in Barrie
