THIS PRESENTATION IS AN OVERVIEW OF STRATEGIES RELATED TO ADVOCATING FOR YOUR CHILD’S NEEDS WITHIN THE SCHOOL SYSTEM. Topics include: being an effective member of your child’s educational team, relevant regulations from the Education Act, strategies for communicating with school board staff, a closer look at school board processes (IPRC, IEP) and additional contacts for more support. It is highly recommended that participant’s register and attend for ‘A Parent’s Guide to School Supports’ prior to attending this workshop.
