We are pleased to announce that Simcoe Community Services, Grandparent System Support Program in partnership with the County of Simcoe, will be hosting the 2nd annual “Blossom Where You Are Planted “conference on Friday, October 26, 2018. The conference is a full day conference which includes morning keynote, lunch, afternoon session and information fair. The Conference theme this year is: Understanding and Intervening Effectively with Challenging Children in Schools, Home and Child Care Settings. The Morning Keynote presenter is Psychologist Eva de Gosztonyi, Coordinator of the Centre of Excellence for Behaviour Management in Quebec. Dr. de Gosztonyi will share interventions that are developmentally based, trauma informed and attachment friendly. The afternoon will feature a further presentation by Dr. de Gosztonyi specifically directed at educators in child care settings and in schools. As well, conference participants can attend a presentation by Ashley LeClair of the Child Advocacy Centre on Human Trafficking, the Grooming Process and Online Safety. This conference will be of interest to Parents, Grandparents, Educators, professionals working in social service fields as well as those working in developmental sectors.
