Who should attend?
The City of Markham and Variety Toronto are partnering to pilot Para Volt Hockey for young children with varied abilities this July! VOLT Hockey is an emerging form of hockey and played by over 50 teams in Denmark, Germany, Norway, Sweden and the United States. It is a variation of fl oor hockey using specially designed chairs for youth with upper mobility. The sport creates an opportunity to engage in a social team-based environment and is one of the new sports that kids with a disability can play. This summer, VOLT Hockey will be heading north to Mount Joy Community Centre where the City of Markham and Variety have partnered to launch a summer program. King City - Adapted Gymnastics (Pulsars Gymnastics Partnership) - York
Adapted Gymnastics is a class for just adaptive athletes who have a broad spectrum of disabilities and severities. They will be partnered with a 2:1 coach.
Kerry's Place (FFS) - Autism: Beyond the Diagnosis - Online
This 2½-hour workshop teaches parents and caregivers strategies and tools to help their children and youth understand their diagnosis, using a strengths-based approach.
