Kerry’s place Autism instructor: Donna Graham We also have a have special person coming to our workshop!! Ph. D Fakhri Shafai - Postdoctoral Researcher, Department of Psychology, Brain and Mind Institute University of Western Ontario She entered the Autism world as a Behavioural intervention specialist back in California. After working with families for years, she now developing coping strategies for sensory overload. Dr Fakhri then went to Vancouver at UBC to get her Ph.D in Neuroscience. Now Dr Fakhri is at University of London and is also looking at the overlap between ASD,ADHD,OCD and anxiety in a new data analysis project that they have just started. This project is a collaboration with the POND network (https://pond-network.ca) in case you want to research more about it. Many people with ASD process sensory information from the world around them differently from others. Come to this informative workshop and learn more about the sensory system, how it affects people with ASD Every day and learn day and learn how to support yourself/your child day to day, with a variety of examples and sensory strategies.
