A PLAY SKILLS PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN WITH AN INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY This next session of this program for 2-6 year olds will be run through the Town of Aurora’s Parks & Recreation Program starting September 24th, 2017. When children with an intellectual disability receive early instruction on basic motor skills, there is a marked improvement in their physical, social and cognitive abilities. The goal of this program is to give young children instruction on how to walk, run, jump, throw, kick, balance and jump – all in a playbased enjoyable atmosphere. The program is open to all intellectually disabled children, regardless of physical ability. Kids will learn the building blocks of sport – all while having fun and making social connections.
